Ahhhh. What a strange last few weeks. As you may or may not know, I tore the medial collateral ligament in my right knee, and was ordered to rest for 3 weeks to let it heal. No skiing (horrid), no yoga (terrible), and limited use of my lovely tall heeled boots (we did not listen to this one). So I finally felt the gumption to get back to my matt and stretch a bit - only to find matts are not being used in the studio anymore! Oh no, "we must drop as much as we can of what we bring with us to class". You see, you miss a few weeks and everything changes. I was trepidatious first, wee bit scared, it's true, but it's actually easier not to use a sticky matt. One less thing to tote with me, and I feel strangely free ... and strangely stronger.

The practise was good today, it was soooo good to stretch about again and use my muscles. And it is a blessing to slow down, to take my time. I can definately feel the injured area, a sensation I am not used to, but I am confident that this will strengthen my practise, how often do we willingly slow down and take care?
