I have made it through another week of cleansing. I guess you could say I'm just eating healthily, and it feels good! After getting through the DTs for coffee, wow, that was terrible! I was so disturbed, agitated yet exhausted at the same time, and a pounding headache. So some research tells me everything I ever wanted to know about coffee and:

What are the symptoms of caffeine withdrawal?

Regular caffeine consumption reduces sensitivity to caffeine. When
caffeine intake is reduced, the body becomes oversensitive to
adenosine. In response to this oversensitiveness, blood pressure drops
dramatically, causing an excess of blood in the head (though not
necessarily on the brain), leading to a headache.

This headache, well known among coffee drinkers, usually lasts from
one to five days, and can be alleviated with analgesics such as
aspirin. It is also alleviated with caffeine intake (in fact several
analgesics contain caffeine dosages).

Often, people who are reducing caffeine intake report being irritable,
unable to work, nervous, restless, and feeling sleepy, as well as
having a headache. In extreme cases, nausea and vomiting has also been
reported.

All true! Maybe next time I will go gently, and ween myself off, as opposed to cold turkey. It hurt!

Check this out, an animated explanation of proportional voting:

BC-STV

Makes sense to me. Though the explanation is a bit long and painful ... STV is better than the system that's in place, that is certain!

Oh dear. I am missing coffee right now. I have switched over to licorice root, red clover and burdock root tea. It tastes like the front lawn, and is every bit as satisfying. I forgot what the withdrawl from caffeine is like, and find myself toying with the idea that maybe I could give it up next week instead. I am feeling sleepy and unmotivated, and the thought of another cup of twigs is not helping at all. Maybe a few deep breaths will help, and a reminder that I am doing this out of love.

Or maybe some scare tactics are in order.
