So after all the searching, I ended up picking a book that has questions for discussion in the back. Deeply book-clubbish. And I read it in about 4 days. It was surprisingly good, though the story was perhaps a bit ... Thorn Birds ... from time to time, I liked the essence of waking one's spirit. I even cried. Like hard, with a tightness in my chest. Kidd does create gorgeous imagery, thoughtful moments, reflections on the soul, I am looking forward to discussing the book in three weeks time.

Isn't that typical, finished the book in record time, still working on the socks that should have been mailed on Tuesday. Unfortunately, my sock sister dropped out, and now, my socks have no home. No Home! I'm knitting for the ether, really, just for the sake of it now. Will post an image of the one completed sock soon.
Do you ever have a look around you and then get incredibly discontent because everyone else seems so amazingly creative?

Seriously, these guys are talented.

Thankfully, there is always another opportunity, like now, to strive towards excellence. Back to it ...
